Renewed Roots CounselingGetting started
Beginning therapy doesn’t require knowing exactly what to say. We’ll start by understanding what brings you here and what you hope will change.

01 / REACH OUT
Use the Contact page to ask about scheduling, current fees, and insurance. Keep your initial message brief; detailed personal information belongs in the secure intake process.
02 / PREPARE
Before your appointment, you’ll receive paperwork through a secure client portal. We’ll review consent, privacy, and the information needed to begin care.
03 / BEGIN
Our work begins with a formal 50–60 minute intake. We’ll discuss your concerns, goals, and whether this service is a good fit for your needs.
Appointment availability is confirmed by the practice.
Online therapy
Sessions take place online for clients located in Washington, Oregon, or California. You’ll need an internet connection and a private place where you can speak comfortably.
We can discuss pacing, communication preferences, and ways to make sessions more accessible for you.

Insurance options and fees can vary. Before scheduling, please confirm the current session rate, your specific plan, and any out-of-pocket costs with the practice. You can also ask about superbills for out-of-network reimbursement; reimbursement depends on your plan.
My practice begins with a formal intake session rather than a brief consultation call. You can use the Contact page to ask scheduling and payment questions before deciding whether to book.
For adolescent clients, we’ll discuss consent, confidentiality, its limits, and caregiver involvement at the start. Arrangements depend on the client’s age, needs, and applicable requirements. For adult clients, involvement of others is discussed with the client.
The intake helps us consider whether this therapy is appropriate for your needs. If a different service or level of care would be a better fit, we’ll discuss referral options.
At 18, you may relate to the teen experience, the young adult experience, or both. We’ll focus on your circumstances and goals rather than expecting you to fit neatly into one category.
